Dr. Merchant is a proud graduate of Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry and has been part of the Ideal Dental family ever since. Raised in a family of dentists and driven by a lifelong passion for science, Dr. Merchant knew early on that dentistry was the perfect blend of his interests and values.
He began his academic journey at Southern Methodist University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Prior to dental school, Dr. Merchant worked in the Dental Sterilization Department at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry, gaining firsthand exposure to the dental profession while interacting closely with students and faculty. That experience further confirmed his calling to pursue dentistry.
Dr. Merchant finds dentistry uniquely rewarding, as it allows him to combine his love of science with a genuine desire to help others. His daily goal is to provide high-quality, comprehensive dental care while ensuring every patient feels comfortable, confident, and happy with their smile.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Merchant’s greatest pride is being a “girl dad.” He and his wife, Amber, are the parents of two incredible daughters who are his greatest source of joy and motivation. When he’s not spending time with his family, he’s following all things football—especially cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
Come see Dr. Merchant for your dental care needs—and be prepared to leave with a smile!

Dr. Briggs, DDS is an experienced endodontist dedicated to providing precise, compassionate care focused on helping patients preserve their natural teeth. She earned her dental degree from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 2006 and completed her endodontic residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2008. She was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society, recognizing dental students who demonstrate academic achievement, ethical character, professional potential, and leadership.
Dr. Briggs chose endodontics after discovering during dental school that she genuinely enjoyed endodontic treatment. Encouragement from her endodontics department chair, who recognized her talent in the specialty, further inspired her to pursue advanced training. She particularly enjoys challenging cases, including root canal retreatments, locating missed canals, navigating difficult curves, and treating highly calcified teeth. She finds great satisfaction in giving patients the opportunity to save their natural teeth whenever possible.
Patient comfort and trust are central to Dr. Briggs’ approach to endodontic care. She believes every patient deserves to be treated with respect, compassion, and attention to their individual concerns. Her philosophy is simple: she treats every patient as she would a member of her own family, prioritizing comfort, careful treatment, and what is in the patient’s best interest. As she puts it, “I do my best to make sure my patients are heard, understood and as comfortable as possible, before, during and after providing endodontic care.”
Originally from West Virginia, Dr. Briggs was raised in a small town in the northern part of the state near the Ohio and Pennsylvania borders. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys spending time with her family, baking decorated royal icing sugar cookies, and making sourdough bread. She is also a proud pet owner to Saggy, her three-year-old English bulldog, and Lola, her 18-year-old Quaker parrot. Saggy has a special family connection, as she was named after her late father’s favorite thoroughbred horse, Saggy’s Boy, which he rode during his career as a jockey.
