As a proud new Houston resident, Dr. McPherson is excited to call Ideal Dental at Katy Greenhouse her new home. Originally from Brooklyn, New York and Atlanta, Georgia, she’s thrilled to bring her East Coast experience and passion for dentistry to her new community here in Katy, Texas.
Dr. McPherson completed her undergraduate studies at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, and earned her graduate degree from Barry University in Miami, Florida. She then achieved her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Her well-rounded educational background and diverse experiences help her provide compassionate, high-quality dental care for patients of all ages.
For Dr. McPherson, dentistry is about more than creating beautiful smiles—it’s about building confidence, restoring comfort, and forming lasting relationships with her patients. She takes pride in helping each person feel at ease while achieving their best oral health.
When she’s not caring for patients, you’ll likely find Dr. McPherson exploring Houston’s vibrant coffee shops, restaurants, and museums. She also enjoys baking, traveling, and leisurely bike rides around her new city. Always open to new adventures (and local recommendations!), she loves discovering what makes Houston such a special place to call home.
Dr. Alia Chakaki, a board-certified periodontist with over 20 years of experience in restoring and maintaining oral health. She earned her dental degree from the University of Damascus in Syria in 2000 and completed her specialty training in periodontics at Case Western Reserve University in 2007.
Dr. Chakaki is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a recognition that reflects her expertise and commitment to the highest standards of care. She is highly skilled in treating gum disease, placing dental implants, and performing advanced periodontal procedures-all with a gentle and patient-centered approach.
