Our Georgetown Dentists

Dr. James Innes was born and raised in Kent, Washington, a suburb 20 miles southeast of Seattle. As a teen, he enjoyed playing basketball, taking road trips, and spending time with his friends. 

After graduating high school, he attended Western Washington University, where he studied Chemistry.  He then spent two years as a Chemist analyzing hops and hop extracts in Yakima, WA. During that time, he decided to pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Innes attended New York University College of Dentistry, where he received his DDS degree. Dr. Innes has always enjoyed working with his hands, working as a part of a team, staying busy, and serving others; a career in dentistry seemed like a great fit. His favorite part about being a dentist is helping patients feel comfortable accessing the dental care they need and ensuring they are able to maintain their healthy smiles.  

Outside of work, Dr. Innes is likely running, cooking, or eating. He enjoys domestic travel, meeting new people, and taking in the sunshine somewhere near the water. Most of all, he enjoys spending his time with close friends and family. 

Dr. Jerry Chiu was born and raised in New Jersey, but is proud to call himself an Austinite. As a child, he dreaded going to the dentist, but the saving grace was the comfort and compassion he felt in the chair by his dental professional. Years later, as a practicing oral surgeon, Dr. Chiu continues to emphasize the importance of providing compassionate care, yet maintaining professionalism and delivering safe and outstanding surgical expertise. Dr. Chiu obtained his doctor of dental surgery degree at Columbia University, where he was involved in international mission trips to Cambodia. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the competitive Medstar Washington Hospital Center, serving as chief resident in the final year. His training also included working at esteemed affiliated hospitals, such as the John Hopkins Hospital, DC Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Children’s National Hospital, and the National Institute of Health.

Dr. Chiu practices the full scope of oral surgery with special emphasis on outpatient sedation and anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery, implantology, oral pathology, and soft and hard tissue reconstruction.

Outside of work, Dr. Chiu is an avid tennis player, scuba diver, foodie, and cyclist. You can find him cruising along Lady Bird Lake or eating his way through Austin in his spare time. He is also the proud father of a French bulldog named Cooper. Dr. Chiu enjoys traveling internationally and has backpacked in over 18 countries with even more trips in mind.

Dr. Dip Desai graduated from Birmingham University where he then transferred to New York University to complete dental school. Dr. Desai’s love for dentistry stemmed from the desire to help people by changing their smiles because that is the first thing others notice. The relationships that he builds with patients over the course of their orthodontic treatment is very important to him.

In Dr. Desai’s spare time, his hobbies are exercising, swimming, biking and cooking. His main goal is to spend time with his family and their dog, Hazel.
