Yes. The initial adjustment period is easier when teens aren't juggling school and sports, and summer is the only window without daily class conflicts. Most teen cases finish within 12–18 months — meaning a June start means a confident smile by school photos next year.
Braces use metal or ceramic brackets bonded to teeth. Invisalign uses clear, removable trays swapped every 1–2 weeks. Braces are generally better for complex bite corrections; Invisalign is preferred by most teens for the look and the ability to remove for sports. Both deliver the same final result for most cases.
Most teen Invisalign cases finish in 12–18 months. Complex cases can run longer. Treatment length depends on movement needed and tray-wear consistency (recommended 20–22 hours a day).

Yes. With braces, your orthodontist will fit a custom mouthguard for contact sports. With Invisalign, trays are removed for sports. Most teens adjust within 1–2 weeks and continue every sport they were playing before.
